The Cohasset Legion Riders were honored to escort the Vietnam Veterans Memorial’s mobile display and museum “The Wall That Heals” as it arrived in Yarmouth MA on September 15th. Led by police motorcycle traffic control, the semi-trailer was surrounded by local motorcycle groups and veterans’ service organizations as it weaved through its final 10-mile route in Cape Cod. Local firefighters showed their support along the route with static displays to include larger-than-life US flags. Schools reinforced the importance of remembering our Vietnam War fallen by pausing classes to have students line the route while waving Old Glory. The children were far from being alone with local citizens also taking time out of their days to line the route with flags and signs of their own. It was a proper greeting for the traveling 75% size replica of the Vietnam Memorial, its travel museum, and the selfless workers that traverse the entire nation to meet people where they are and promote awareness and rememberance. The Wall will be set up for a week with ceremonies and tours before moving to its next location in Connecticut.
